ISCOC and ISCIC
Boss said the conference would be beneficial for me though the topic is organic and inorganic chemistry. I am not an organic or inorganic chemist. I am an analytical chemist. This kind of symposium is far from my daily work actually. But I think it's a kind of reward for my hard working.
One of the "C" in "ISCOC" and "ISCIC" represents Chinese, so that most of the speakers are Chinese from China, taiwan, Singapore, Hongkong and Chinese overseas. Those research works are "tian shu" to me. I feel boring but I enjoy the food there. Luckily I can talk with my colleagues. It's a bit difficult to socialize with those academic people. No common languages. No old friends. I recognized some faces, but I don't think they know me because I was low profile when I studies in school.
I skipped one hour talk in the afternoon. I hope boss don't ask me about that tomorrow.
